Off-Duty Federal Officer Exchanges Fire With Home Invasion Suspects

An off-duty federal officer exchanged gunshots with two people who allegedly forced their way into his neighbor's home in Bowie, Md., Monday afternoon.

Before 3 p.m., the neighbor approached the officer and told him two people had forced their way into her home. The officer saw them fleeing the home and exchanged shots with one of them.

Bowie police and Prince George's County police searched the area and detained two persons of interest, who are being questioned.

No one injured in the shootout.
