Authorities in Washington now say a demonstrator at an Occupy DC encampment threw a liquid-filled soda bottle, not a brick, hitting a U.S. Park Police officer after police began removing tents over the weekend.

Court documents available Monday say the demonstrator, Jeremiah Desausa, threw the Coke bottle Saturday. Authorities said he resisted arrest and was subdued with a Taser. He later said he hadn't intended to hit anyone.

Authorities had previously said the object thrown was a brick. The court document describing the incident says the officer hit by the bottle has a serious eye injury. Doctors told him they will not know if he suffered permanent eye damage until swelling and bleeding subside.

Interior and National Park Service officials issued a statement commending officers during the Occupy demonstrations.
