Obama to Address Crowd at VA Rolls-Royce Facility

Since opening last May, the company has brought 150 jobs to the area.

A large crowd is gathering for President Barack Obama's appearance in Prince George County.

Obama is scheduled to address a crowd of about 1,600 at the Rolls-Royce Crosspointe facility about 30 miles south of Richmond. The company manufactures engine discs for aircraft at the Crosspointe plant.

Rolls-Royce North America president and CEO Jim Guyette says it's a huge honor to host the president at one of the company's facilities. And he says the Prince George community deserves a visit from the president after welcoming the company with open arms when it opened last May, bringing about 150 jobs to the area.

Guyette says a second plant at the site is in the planning stages. It would manufacture turbine blades and create an additional 100 jobs.
