President-elect Barack Obama and District Mayor Adrian Fenty had lunch Saturday afternoon at Ben's Chili Bowl.
There was much cheering and applauding as they entered the landmark D.C. restaurant. It was Obama's first trip to Ben's.
Obama drew laughs from the Ben's staff and nearby patrons when he walked up to the counter and asked, "Where's the food at?"
Afterward, Fenty described the meal, saying Obama had a half-smoke with chili and chips while he enjoyed a half-smoke with chili and cheese fries.
Fenty then hinted that Obama may be a regular at the famous U Street eatery.
"I think so," Fenty said. "I think he liked the food and the company."
