The weekend before Inauguration Day will absolutely not be the time to take any chances with parking enforcement in D.C.

As inaugural events get under way the District will start cracking down on people who are parking where they shouldn't be as early as Friday night.

There are many new restrictions in place in the downtown security zone. Mayor Adrian Fenty plans to have more than four dozen public works, police and private tow trucks operating throughout the city, ready to haul away any unauthorized vehicles.

If you do get towed, it will cost you $100, and an additional $20 per day for storage.

Call 311 to find out where your car is impounded.
