No More Grace Period for Takoma Park Speeders

Speed cameras to issue fines in Takoma Park

Watch your speed, especially when you roll through Takoma Park, Md.

Starting at midnight Saturday, you'll have to pay a fine if you get caught in new speed cameras.

Police installed the devices on University Boulevard near Carroll Avenue.

The exact location for leery lead footers: 900 block of eastbound University Boulevard, also known as State Route 193, near Silver Spring.

Officers say they chose this location because of so many accidents in this area. Many of those accidents involved pedestrians getting hit by cars.
