Plans for a waterfront park in Anacostia near the baseball stadium are announced.

A new waterfront park is coming to the Anacostia River near the city's baseball stadium.
Mayor Adrian Fenty and developer Forest City Washington announced the $42 million project Wednesday.
The 5-acre waterfront park will be part of "The Yards" complex of local condos, shops, restaurants and offices. Construction starts in January and is expected to be completed in the spring 2010.
