All 4 Suspects in 2016 Home Invasion Homicide Arrested: Sheriff

The driver of the waiting vehicle and second gunman arrested in June

Authorities have all four suspects in a 2016 home invasion and homicide in custody, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

On Jan. 12, 2016, two armed men entered a house in the 11500 block of Terrace Drive in Waldorf, Maryland. Michael Keith Beers, 34, was shot and killed by the gunmen after they demanded money, according to the sheriff's office. A 32-year-old man escaped the home by jumping through a window.

Rena Cassandra Crandell, who detectives say set up the robbery, was also inside the house when the gunmen arrived, investigators said. The investigation revealed Crandell dated Beers and one of the gunmen, Reigel Paul Wamack. She fled with the two gunmen after the shooting.

Crandell and Wamack were arrested in April 2016.

The driver of the getaway vehicle, Christian Humberto Alvarez, 25, was arrested in Montgomery County, Maryland, June 26. The second gunman, Bryan Javier Aquice, 24, was arrested in Arlington, Virginia, June 27.

Aquice is in custody at the Arlington County Detention Center, pending extradition.
