Drivers around Bowie, Maryland might want to slow down, as new speed cameras have been activated.

The cameras are near the intersection of Kenhill Drive and Fair Lane, near Benjamin Tasker Middle School.

Police say they installed the cameras to help monitor speeds around the school.

The cameras are activated Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and will catch drivers going at least 12 miles over the speed limit.

Police say the cameras will still be in use even when school is not in session during the summer and over breaks.
