New Ramp Offers New Options for Commuters

Good traffic news for area drivers for a change.

Driving between Maryland and Virginia will now be much easier, thanks to a new ramp connecting I-295 to the 11th Street Bridge.

The ramp was scheduled to open after Monday’s morning rush hour, and will help drivers heading southbound across the Anacostia River.

This new ramp is expected to be a huge help for drivers. It will not only save drivers time between Virginia and Maryland but will also remove some traffic from Anacostia roads.

D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray planned to attend the ribbon-cutting for the ramp.

A similar ramp for northbound drivers is scheduled to open in the fall.
