New Person of Interest in Alexis Murphy Case

Police in contact with second man in teen's disappearance

There’s another twist in the case of missing Virginia teen Alexis Murphy. Police are in contact with a second person of interest in her disappearance, according to NBC 10 WSLS in Roanoke, Va.

Murphy’s family tells WSLS-TV investigators are following up on a lead by Randy Allen Taylor. Taylor is in custody. He faces a grand jury on Tuesday in connection with Murphy’s kidnapping.

Taylor claims he was with another man on Aug. 3, the night Murphy disappeared. He tells police Murphy left with that man.

Murphy’s family says they know quite a bit about the other person of interest, but they can’t reveal his identity.

Taylor, 17, was last seen on the surveillance video of a Liberty gas station in Lovingston, Va.
