New Laptops Taken From Woman in Georgetown

Talk about a bad apple. A woman was robbed in the District yesterday as she left an Apple Store in the 1200 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW, Prince of Petworth reported. She lost two laptop computers she had just purchased.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, it is believed that she was followed into the store. While walking home from the store, to the 3300 block of N Street NW, she was knocked to the ground and the laptops were taken.

The statement from the Metropolitan Police Department suggests that the culprits may have been waiting for someone who had made a large purchase to leave the store. The holiday season is a popular time for criminals, according to the statement. Shoppers are often not aware of their surroundings.

Additional officers have been placed in the area.
