What was once a cold case in Charles County, Md., is now heating up for the second time in eight months.

Shawn Marshall Myers, 33, is now charged in the 2004 Thanksgiving death of Chris Mader.

The TV sports intern was driving home from his bartending shift at Bennigan’s restaurant when he was shot.  Investigators believe it was a robbery gone terribly wrong.

There were no arrests for six years. Then, last October, investigators got a break in the case.  Charles County detectives arrested 29-year-old Matthew Derek Correll. He is being held without bond.

The arrest of Correll was a relief for Mader’s family, but investigators weren’t done. They believe Correll had accomplices.

On Tuesday, Charles County detectives arrested Myers. He is charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

At the time of his arrest, Myers was already serving time for another crime.
