Navy Investigating Debris From Training Missile

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Navy officials are investigating how a part from a training missile fell off a fighter jet and hit a pickup truck in Virginia Beach.

Naval Air Force Atlantic says an F/A-18 Hornet was returning to Oceana Naval Air Station from a routine mission when a wing from the training missile fell off.

The missile wasn't carrying live explosives during the training drill.

Luckily, no one was in the truck when the piece fell, and the Virginian-Pilot reports the truck only sustained minimal damage.
