Natural Resource Police Crack Down on Oversexed Park

8 charged with sex offenses in Gambrill

FREDERICK, Md. -- Police have charged eight men with sex offenses in public areas of Gambrill State Park near Frederick.

The arrests made over the weekend by undercover officers followed citizen complaints that men were soliciting and performing sex acts in restrooms, on trails, and in parking lots and pavilions, Maryland Natural Resource Police said.

Officers targeted the High Knob and Rock Run areas of the park. Both areas have bathrooms and picnic facilities, Sgt. Brian Albert said.

The charges include disorderly conduct, indecent exposure, second-degree assault, fourth-degree sex offense and engaging in sex acts in public places.
