The Nationals are swapping red for green Friday as they work to keep a local river clean.

The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation is hosting the 5th Annual Green Up Day at the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. The team is encouraging fans to volunteer to help rebuild ponds at the gardens, plant trees and clean up trash along the Anacostia River.

Volunteers will ger a t-shirt, lunch and a ticket to Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Those hoping to participate should be over 18 and should wear clothing they're willing to get dirty.

The event begins at 8 a.m.
