Natalie Randolph Steps Down as Coolidge Football Coach

A D.C. high school football coach who gained national attention is stepping down.

Over the past four years, Natalie Randolph was one of the only women to ever lead a varsity high school football team.

Randolph was named head coach of the Coolidge High football team in 2010. She coached the team to the Turkey Bowl in 2011, but Coolidge won just one game this season.

Randolph told News4 Sports she wants to spend more time with her family and focus on teaching.

Coolidge's athletic director said he was surprised by the announcement but understands Randolph needs a break from the game.
