The votes are in and a new school in Fairfax County finally has a name.

The school board chose "Mason Crest Elementary School" for the building on Crest Drive in Annandale, Va.

The name holds a lot of meaning. School Board Chair Janie Strauss calls Mason Crest a “tribute to the history of the neighborhood.”

"Mason" honors the old Masonville school and "Crest" pays tribute to the Broyhill Crest neighborhood where the school sits.

The school is scheduled to open in September.
