NWS: Two Tornadoes Confirmed from June Storm

The National Weather Service has confirmed two tornadoes in Spotsylvania and King George counties during a June storm.

The weather service's Sterling office says both of the June 13 tornadoes were rated as EF-0. Neither tornado caused any injuries.

One tornado was confirmed near Thornburg in Spotsylvania County. It damaged a farmhouse and two billboards, uprooted several trees, and overturned two recreational vehicles at a dealership.

The tornado traveled more than 2 miles. Winds reached up to 80 miles per hour.

The other tornado toppled trees after it touched down in Port Conway in King George County. It traveled about 7 miles. Winds reached up to 70 miles per hour.

Both tornadoes were on the ground for about 5 minutes.
