NTSB Releases Photos of November Metro Collision

The National Transportation Safety Board released images Monday from a November Metrorail accident as part of its public documents of the multi-fatal June 2009 crash.

The photographs show the damage caused to trains at the West Falls Church rail yard Nov. 29 when one six-car train crashed into another that was parked.

The crash at the West Falls Church yard injured a train operator and two rail car cleaners who were aboard the parked train. It caused at least $9 million in damage. All 12 cars were damaged, and three cars were beyond repair.

Metro fired the train operator.
