A hearing today will likely determine that Albrecht Muth is still not competent to stand trial in the murder of his wife in their Georgetown home.
48-year-old Muth strangled and beat Viola Drath to death last summer, police say.
The 91-year-old was a well-known journalist and D.C. socialite.
A murder trial set for August has been delayed due to questions about Muth's mental health.
Doctors who evaluated Muth this week describe him as delusional.
Physicans say Muth could eventually stand trial over time and with treatment.
