Culpeper Has First Murder Since 2006

Two in critical condition after triple shooting

Police in Culpeper are investigating the town's first murder in nearly five years after a triple shooting in an apartment complex left a woman dead and two men wounded.

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon at the Village Apartments on Willis Lane.

Police identified the victim as Patricia Adams and said that both of the wounded men are in critical condition.

Investigators also said that they believe that one of the men was the gunman and they are not looking for a suspect at this time. Neither man was identified by police, but their ages were given as 43 and 50 years old.

At this time, police believe that the shooting was related to a domestic dispute, though the investigation is ongoing.

Culpeper's last homicide occurred Oct 22, 2006, which involved a murder and suicide.
