A "No Parking" sign in a Northwest D.C. neighborhood caused confusion among residents who noticed someone tampered with it.
The sign was located in the 1800 block of Kilbourne Place in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. A Popville.com user first reported the issue Monday afternoon.
The left-hand arrow clearly shows there is no parking to the left, but someone applied what appeared to be red tape to create a right-hand arrow, causing confusion among drivers and residents alike.
One long-time neighbor told News4 the sign has had double arrows for years, while others claim the alteration is recent.
A D.C. Department of Transportation official told News4 Tuesday the right-hand arrow was tampered with, and those who received parking tickets at that particular spot can contest the violation.
The sign has since been replaced.
