D.C. Man Charged in Morgan State Shooting

20-year-old charged with attempted murder, assault, and other offenses

Baltimore Police have brought charges against a D.C. man who they say confessed to the shooting of a student at Morgan State University.

Keith Robertson, 20, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault, and various related handgun offenses. According to WBAL-TV, investigators say that Friday's shooting was not a random act of violence, but a targeted attack stemming from a prior dispute.

Authorities still have not released the name of the shooting victim, who was listed in stable condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital trauma unit with non-life threatening injuries Saturday. Police say that Robertson shot the victim, a member of Morgan State's football team, three times in the torso.

The shooting took place shortly before 1:00 p.m. near an apartment complex in the 1700 block of East Cold Spring Lane. It is not known if Robertson is a Morgan State student.
