Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett will ask the County Council Tuesday for $7.5 million more to fund the project.

Inspections of concrete on the Silver Spring Transit Center may have been conducted improperly. Transportation reporter Adam Tuss has been at the front of these developments and explains why some are threatening legal action due to the continued delays of the multimillion dollar transportation hub.

The price tag for the project is already about $110 million.

The additional money is for legal and consultant fees related to the delay of the project. Part of the money will be used for change orders.

The massive building, which sits right in the heart of downtown Silver Spring, is said to have major structural issues. However, the developer of the project disputes those claims.
