Man Loses Large Bag of Cash on I-97

The man says he forgot to grab the bag of money he'd placed on the roof of his car before driving off

A man in Anne Arundel County forgot to grab a bank bag filled with money he’d placed on top of his car before driving off and is now looking for the missing bag, troopers say.

Early on Friday morning, a man employed by a Glen Burnie convenience store said he was on his way to make a deposit at the bank and had placed the bag of money on the top of his SUV, authorities say.

According to officials, the man says he forgot to remove the bag before pulling out of the lot. He says he believes the light red bank bag marked “7-11” was lost around 5:45 a.m. along I-97 northbound around Route 100.

Troopers investigating the case drove passed the area just after 6 a.m. but failed to locate the bag.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the location of the bag or who may have recovered some of the lost money to call Maryland State Police at the Glen Burnie Barrack at 410-761-5130.
