Mom Accused of Leaving Child Alone in Car for Hours While Uisng Heroin

Police suspect drugs played a role

A Virginia mother was charged with endangering the life of her 3-year-old daughter by leaving her unattended in a vehicle for several hours.

Marian Larman, 34, of Mineral, Va., left the child strapped in a car seat in a car outside a Frederick motel while she used heroin inside, police said.

She checked in to the motel at about 3 a.m. Tuesday. Officers found the child at about 7 a.m. They found Larman asleep in a motel bathroom with a substance believed to be heroin and drug paraphernalia strewn around the room.

Officers also found what they believe to be heroin in Larman's car, police said.

The child was not injured and was placed with relatives.

Larman is charged with leaving a child unattended in a vehicle, reckless endangerment and drug offenses.

She's being held on $50,000 bond.
