Fairfax County police say a missing mother and her 9-year-old son have been found safe.
The mom, , suffers from schizophrenia and other mental health related issues and took her son, Jair Sanchez.
Police responded to a home at 5600 block of Ridge View Drive about 10:30 a.m. Sunday after family members of 29-year-old Jury Chavez called police in an attempt to get mental health services for her.
Chavez fled the house with her son.
Police searched the area with the assistance of a helicopter, but were unable to find them. Police say a concerned resident notified police after noticing the missing mom and son. Police say both are safe.
