The car of a missing Shipman, Va.,  teen was found in a movie theater parking lot Tuesday, police said.

Alexis Murphy, 17, was last seen leaving her home Saturday night. Police later spotted her on surveillance video leaving a gas station in Lovingston, Va. Her car, a 2003 Nissan Maxima, was found Tuesday just north of Charlottesville at Carmike Cinemas.

Officials said there are more than 50 state, federal and local law enforcement officials are searching for her on the ground as well as a helicopter in air in the Route 29 area.

The FBI describes Murphy as a 5-foot-7 black female weighing 156 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink blouse, floral spandex pants and brown boots. She was carrying a gray purse.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Murphy should contact the Nelson County Sheriff's Office at 434-263-7050.
