Don’t be alarmed if you hear military aircraft overnight.

A series of training flights will be taking place tonight in the National Capital Region, according to NORAD.

The exercise, called Falcon Virgo, is scheduled to begin at 11:30 p.m. Monday and last until 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to NORAD.

Air Force F-16s, a U.S. Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopter and Civil Patrol aircraft will all be taking part in the exercise, according to NORAD.

NORAD said the exercise is being conducted to test and hone their systems.  Similar exercises have been conducted throughout the United States.
