Metro Using MLK Day to Perform Track Work

Shuttle buses replacing trains between L'Enfant Plaza and Eastern Market

Metro is using the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday to perform track work -- great for Metro upkeep, but not so great for those workers who still have to show up at the office Monday.

On the Blue and Orange lines, shuttle buses are replacing trains between L'Enfant Plaza and Eastern Market. The Federal Center SW and Capitol South stations are closed. Metro says customers traveling through the area should allow 20 to 30 minutes of additional travel time.

On the Red line, trains will share a single track in two areas, between Dupont Circle and Friendship Heights and between Takoma and Forest Glen.
