Metro Yellow Line Delayed for Train Derailment Drill

An emergency drill caused delays on the Metrorail Yellow Line Sunday.

Service was suspended between L'Enfant Plaza and the Pentagon Station from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The drill simulated a train derailment on the Yellow Line bridge over the Potomac River. More than 100 emergency crews practiced rescue techniques.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport advised airport customers to use the Blue Line to and from Washington until the drill concluded.
