WASHINGTON -- Two Metro employees were injured when a rail car struck another train Wednesday evening, Metro officials said.

At least this Metrofail took place in the West Falls Church rail yard and not on a line.

A train traveling at a low speed unintentionally hit a stationary train at about 6 p.m., officials said. The two unidentified workers' injuries were non-life-threatening.

The damage to the rail cars was minor, Metro spokeswoman Angela Gates said.

The injured employees will receive alcohol and drug tests, which is standard procedure.

The transit agency is investigating.

This is the latest in a series of Metro mistakes -- big and small -- this spring and summer. The worst, of course, was the June 22 Red Line collision that killed nine and injured dozens.
