Normal Service Resumes on Orange, Blue Lines

Person struck by train

Normal service has resumed on Metro's Orange and Blue lines following delays due to a person struck by a train.

Orange and Blue line trains were bypassing the Foggy Bottom station, according to Metro. The station reopened about 3 p.m.

Orange Line trains single-tracked between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon, and Blue Line trains single-tracked between Foggy Bottom and Arlington Cemetery. Normal service was reestablished about 3:45 p.m.

Passengers told News4's Tom Sherwood the horn blew and the brakes were slammed. After about 10 minutes, the passengers were allowed off the train.

Police are investigating.

Metro suggested using the Farragut West station as an alternative.
