Metro Shutdown Causes Staggering Lines for Rides, Traffic Mess at DCA

Metro track work shut down service to and from Reagan National Airport over the weekend causing staggeringly long lines for travelers who needed a ride.

A News4 producer at the airport Sunday night reports people are waiting more than 30 minutes for taxis and Uber rides and traffic has been a mess because of the shutdown.

Reagan Airport tweeted about the issue, saying, "Traffic congestion at DCA likely due to more cars on road from metro station closure. Please allow extra time."

Metro said the Blue and Yellow lines are shut down through Sunday's closing between Pentagon City and Braddock Road for scheduled maintenance. Shuttle buses are scheduled to run between stations.
