If you are taking Metro this holiday weekend be prepared to wait.

Metro has shut down the Grosvernor-Strathmore station along the Red Line until Tuesday morning. Until then, free shuttle buses are carrying passengers between the White Flint and Medical Center stations.

Red Line trips that pass through the Grosvenor-Strathmore station could take about 40 minutes extra in your travel time.

The closure is all part of a multi-year project to rebuild the Red Line. Workers are installing 1400 feet of rail line and making several upgrades.
