Metro trains will share a single track this weekend on portions of the Red and Orange lines.

On the Red Line, trains will single-track in two segments: between Shady Grove and Twinbrook, and between Rhode Island Avenue and Takoma. The work will begin Friday night at 10 p.m. and continue through Sunday, Metro said.

On the Orange Line, trains will also single-track in two segments: between Ballston and West Falls Church, and between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly. The work will begin Friday night at 10 p.m. and continue through Saturday, but Sunday work has been canceled. Orange Line trains will operate normally on a regular schedule Sunday.
