This morning, Metro officials announced a new initiative to hire more Metro bus drivers.
The transit agency will hire 26 new Metro bus drivers. The hiring is part of Mayor Gray's One Hire citywide jobs program, in which the District pre-screens job applicants for employers looking to hire in the District.
On Wednesday, the city's Department of Employment Services is accepting applications and conducting screenings for the new jobs at their headquarters, located at 4058 Minnesota Avenue NE.
