Metro Changes for MLK Weekend

Metro riders should be prepared for some service changes during the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend.

Metro said it will be replacing four track switches, repairing escalators and elevators, and working to improve cell phone coverage.

The changes will be in effect from 10 p.m. Friday until closing on Monday.

The Blue and Orange lines will be split in two sections and there will be no trains running between the Rosslyn and Farragut West stations, Metro said.

The Blue Line will operate:

  • Between Franconia-Springfield and Rosslyn stations
  • Between Largo Town Center and Farragut West stations

The Orange Line will operate:

  • Between Vienna-Fairfax/GMU and Rosslyn stations
  • Between New Carrollton and Farragut West stations

Trains on the Red, Blue and Orange lines will also be sharing tracks in some locations.
