Memorial to Honor Memory of Erin Peterson

Subdivision on Family Homestead named for Virginia Tech Victim

A special memorial will honor the memory of Erin Peterson, a victim of the Virginia Tech massacre seven years ago.

The memorial will be at a subdivision named for her, on family property in the community of St. Louis in Loudoun County where her grandfather, Vernon "Pete" Peterson, still lives.

In addition, there are five new homes built by Habitat for Humanities on the property.

Peterson, a former construction worker himself, has been on the construction sites offering ideas and inspiration. Construction supervisor Bud Green says he welcomes the help.

Jim Wehr of Habitat for Humanity says the group has built about 24 homes in Loudoun County.
