Media Defeat DC Council on Hardwood

Councilman Marion Barry, who was just released from the hospital -- again -- on Friday, made an appearance as the honorary coach of the Council team.
WASHINGTON -- Members of the media took on the D.C. Council in a half-court basketball game at the Verizon Center Monday afternoon.
Representing WRC-TV, Tom Sherwood played about three minutes, but he said he played great defense.
WTOP's Mark Plotkin proved to be as aggressive on the court as he is in his reporting when he got a little pushy with Councilman Jack Evans.
Councilman Marion Barry, who was just released from the hospital -- again -- on Friday, made an appearance as the honorary coach of the Council team.
Proceeds from the game benefit the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association and the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference.
The media team won the game.
