A Maryland woman was arrested Friday morning after police say she gave marijuana to several children, ranging in age from 6 to 14,
Officers were called to a home in Lexington Park at about 1:30 a.m. to check on the welfare of several children. Someone told police that Tabitha Cassidy gave marijuana to several children at a birthday party at the home.
Police say Cassidy, 45, gave marijuana to three teenagers and a 6-year-old child. She allegedly tried to teach the youngest child how to inhale marijuana through a smoking device.
She has been charged with four counts each of second degree child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of marijuana. She is being held on no bond at the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
