Baltimore County police say they've disrupted plans by a 16-year-old boy to harm people at his school.
Police say the teen, a high school sophomore, had been suspected of stealing from three vehicles on Saturday.
When police interviewed him at his home in Monkton, he allegedly told officers that he was planning to bring a handgun and two homemade explosives to the George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology.
Police say he told investigators he "wanted to kill people."
Authorities recovered a handgun and three crude, homemade explosives at his home.
The teen was sent for an emergency psychiatric evaluation and is being held at a juvenile detention facility. Police say he faces several juvenile charges. Police don't believe anyone else was involved.
