A Marine from Westminster, Md., was killed in combat in Afghanistan, the Pentagon said.
Staff Sgt. James M. Malachowski, 25, died Sunday in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
He had been assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
