Md. Man Sentenced in Fatal Hit-and-Run

A Maryland man was sentenced Friday to a year in prison for striking and killing a pedestrian, and leaving the scene.

Forty-seven-year-old Michael Glover of Fort Washington, Md., pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in the death of 71-year-old Duffie Claridy.

According to the government's evidence, Glover was driving a Mercedes Benz early on Nov. 8, 2010. He was traveling on South Capitol Street when he struck Claridy, who was walking in the road. Claridy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prosecutors say after impact, Glover drove home. Debris at the crash scene included a Mercedes emblem.

After media reports, police received information about Glover's vehicle and found the car parked in his driveway.
