Md. Man Gets 22 Years For Restaurant Shooting

Thanksgiving weekend shooting temporarily closed Heritage India restaurant

A Maryland man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for fatally shooting a man outside a Dupont Circle restaurant over Thanksgiving weekend.

 Thirty-year-old Brandon Terry of Riverdale, Md., was sentenced Friday in the slaying of 34-year-old Jhonte Coleman of Suitland, Md. Terry had pleaded guilty earlier this month to second-degree murder while armed.

Police said a fight broke out at the Heritage India restaurant on Nov. 27. Two other men were wounded in the fracas.

Terry was arrested in February.
