A man was found slumped over the steering wheel of a work truck this weekend, and Prince George's County police are trying to figure out who killed him.
A woman passing by found 24-year-old James Waters’s body just after noon Sunday in the 1300 block of Nalley Terrace in Landover, Md. He was behind the wheel of a truck with a magnetic Comcast contractor sticker. Waters didn’t work directly for Comcast, Prince George’s County police said, but he may have been a contractor. They are still investigating his link to the truck.
Waters, 24, was shot -- possibly Saturday night, possibly because of a robbery attempt, a dispute, a drug-related incident or something else, Prince George’s County police Maj. Andy Ellis.
Waters has a long list of drug-related convictions in Maryland courts, but police aren't speculating on what might have led to his death.
Several residents told NBC Washington the neighborhood is tranquil during the day but they stay inside once the sun sets.
