Brian McIntyre charged with assault after stabbing at party

A man has been charged with assault after allegedly stabbing another man at a party in Westminster in March.

Brian Keith McIntyre, 23, was taken into custody Friday night and charged with first-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon in relation to the stabbing, which took place on the early morning of March 3.

The stabbing victim, a 26-year-old Westminster man, was stabbed and wounded in a scuffle while trying to eject several people from the party, which was held at a house on Bull Frog Road. The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to Carroll Hospital Center and later to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was treated and released. 

Investigators had previously recovered a knife from McIntyre's residence that they believed was used in the stabbing. He is being held at Carroll County Central Booking while awaiting a bail hearing .
