Police in Maryland are searching for the man who robbed a convenience store Saturday night in Bel-Air.

Investigators say that the man entered the Penny's One Stop Convenience Store and asked the clerk to make change for a dollar. After the clerk opened the register, police say that the man reached over the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing on foot.

Police say the suspect was last seen fleeing toward Bel-Air Plaza and is still at large.

The suspect is described as a white male standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing between 150 and 185 pounds. He has a thin build and clean cut hair and was last seen wearing a brown baggie sweater, a brown knit hat, tan cargo pants and dark-colored footwear.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Allegany County Sheriff's Department at (301) 777-5959 or the Department's C3I unit at (301) 777-0326. Anonymous callers can dial (301) 722-5959.
