Police in Montgomery County are trying to figure out if an early morning holdup at the CVS in Potomac, Md., could be connected to a similar-style bank robbery attempt in Rockville the day before.
Montgomery County police are looking for two men -- one wearing a fake beard, and one in a black ski mask -- who tried to rob a CVS store in Potomac early Wednesday morning.
Police are also investigating whether these two suspects were involved in the attempted robbery of a Wells Fargo bank in Rockville Tuesday.
The men entered a CVS at 7955 Tuckerman Lane around 3:50 a.m., and one of them showed a handgun. They demanded money but then ran out of the store without taking anything.
Police say an employee of the store ran after the suspects. The suspects shot at the employee, though the employee was not hit.
Both men were able to flee the scene before officers arrived.
The first suspect, armed with a handgun, is described as a black male in his twenties, wearing a black baseball cap with white insignia, a black hooded sweatshirt with a gray logo, camouflage pants, black tennis shoes and a fake beard.
The second suspect was described as a black male in his twenties, wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black ski mask.
Authorities say it's not clear whether the men were trying to rob the pharmacy or the retail portion of the 24-hour store.
